My son and I have made Lucky Cat our "go to" place for a quick and easy lunch or dinner. In the past 18 months we have been there at least 20 times and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and delicious. We love chatting with Debbie who always has a big smile. She is always so kind. She is fun to be around and makes every visit special.

I'm in town from Vegas visiting family and my parents brought me to Lucky Cat Ramen to try out. My dad and I got the tonkotsu and my mom got the beef shoyu. The soup came out nice and hot, which was perfect in the cold, wet weather that was going through the area. The noodles and everything inside were fresh, the meat was tender and juicy and the portion size was very generous. I chose 1 as the spice level and that was more than enough to give it the right kick. I would definitely go back for the tonkotsu. The menu is very simple and service was fast and friendly. The restaurant is essentially a small counter space inside H-Mart pretty much near the entrance but for $12 a bowl, you can't beat the price.

Lucky Cat Ramen is worth the hype for its affordable ramen bowls. I love how you can adjust the spice level. I ordered the veggie ramen with kale noodles with a spice level of 4 and thought that the broth was burning my throat from the spice. I enjoyed the sweet corn in the ramen and thought that the portions were huge. I love the variety of mushrooms. Lots of fried tofu too. Service was excellent and quick. It's definitely nice to get! What a vibe to sit at the counter.

No wonder it's listed in top 100 yelp list of places to eat , Ramen's here are top class. Very simple menu with choice of 4 ramen's and they have just perfected it with ease. It's a small outlet inside H-mart. Very nice and friendly staff/owner who is very polite and helps with order. We had tonkotsu and miso , both were delicious. Fried Gyoza and tempura shrimp are definitely go to appetiser's. Do try this place. It's not fancy, but they do know what they are serving and does it well

Ramen, like pho or matzo ball soup, is good for what ails you or if you just want to feel that warm hug on a coldish day. Now Lucky Cat Ramen just got a top 100 on Yelp for best restaurants in the country for 2023. Number 62 to be exact. And being that I only live a couple miles from the H Mart that it is contained within and shop at semi regularly. I figured it was about time to try some more good ramen. Portland, being a city that boasts several ramen restaurants that came over directly from Japan, and having many local ramen shops as well, this is some stiff competition. Lucky Cat did not disappoint. First off, on observation, the cat aspect is well represented with figurines of cats everywhere. There is limited seating and on a Thursday afternoon after lunchtime I had no issues. Although I'd doubt one would get a chance to get a seat on a weekend or prepare to wait. There are a few app choices and four choices for ramen. I got beef shoyu ramen with strips of beef, shiitake and enoki mushrooms, sweet corn, soft boiled egg, greens and bamboo shoots. Apparently here you get a spicy option of levels 1-5. Of course, I'm getting level five. ramen. Most Japanese food is not one for being spicy, other than wasabi and the ramen here was no exception. Yes, I had a nice warm glow during and after eating, but nothing that was burning my tongue. The broth itself was so flavorful, with drops of chili oil and soy sauce and like any other ramen shop, you are not leaving hungry. I'd say that Lucky Cat being on the Yelp 100 list is not wrong. It's a great little hidden gem right down in Tigard. Come on over to the west side, we have good ramen. As always, enjoy and support local PDX businesses.

I was hedging between giving this great simple counter diner 4 stars or 5 stars. I've had better ramen for over $16/bowl, I've had better individual ramen components (noodle, broth, chashu, egg, veggies), and I've had larger portions elsewhere. But what earned Lucky Cat 5 stars was that all the taste aspects of the noodle bowls were very good, that is, no weak points. Plenty of noodle with just enough flavorful broth too. Different spice levels to tailor your stock.....2-3 is good enough unless you're a spicehead. What clinched the 5 stars was the super-friendly prompt service and the value ($12 for a good size bowl of yumminess is almost unheard of). Limited menu but you know you came for the ramen! Folks worry about the limited seating (only 12 stools) so close to the buildings chilly entrance, but there's extra tables further inside the HMart for "takeout" orders that the Lucky Cat staff will bring to you. I might have found my "go-to" ramen place in PDX!

I read that Lucky Cat Ramen made the top 100 list. I'm a big fan of ramen and used to shop at H-Mart. How could I never even noticed this restaurant! :) The tonkotsu ramen was perfect. I asked for 3 stars in spice level which was perfect. The 3 char siu slices were thin but delicious. They are not fat which is perfect. It came with one soy sauce soft egg (I love the extra work). It also came with bite size bok choi, straw mushrooms, bamboo shoot (I omitted it since I don't like it) and seaweed. The ramen just kept growing and growing. The portion size was fantastic. The ramen was chewy and it has the curly texture, so good! My husband had the miso ramen with 2 stars spice level. It was almost too spicy for him. The lady up front was very sweet. She gave us a small dish of hot chili oil so we can add to our ramen. We will definitely come back again! Thanks for yelp recommendation again.

I knew I had to try this place when it made it onto the recent Yelp list of top 100 places to eat in the US. Situated right at the entrance of H Mart in Tigard, there can be quite a bit of foot traffic. We needed to go to H mart anyway to pick up some items, so it was the perfect time to try out lucky cat. We got what we needed from H mart, placed our items in the car, then came back to eat This place has counter seating only if you want to dine here. There were only a couple open seats when we came, and it was quite busy. None the less we were able to get two seats next to each other I am a pretty indecisive person, so I actually really appreciate the simplicity of the menu. Don't let the simplicity make you think there is anything simple about the food here I opted for the veggie ramen, which is uncharacteristic of me as I usually get the tonkatsu. What really drew me was the kale noodles, which I learned you can sub in any of their non veggie ramens for $1 The people working here are so kind and attentive. Our food came out piping hot, and everything was so fragrant. I was so blown away by the veggie ramen. The broth had a depth I thought could only be achieved with a meat based broth. I also loved the kale noodles and now they were perfectly Al dente. Usually I feel veggie noodles tend to fall apart, but not these! The tonkatsu ramen was also fantastic. Again a very flavorful broth with a lot of depth and dimension, and perfectly Al dente noodles The ingredients here are fresh and portions are generous. You get to choose your spicy level, from 1-5. I ended up taking some as left over, which i am very excited to eat as a late night snack or late lunch in the morning. TL;DR-- you must come here! I am not surprised it made it onto the top 100 places to eat in the US. Don't be scared to try the veggie broth even if you aren't vegetarian/vegan
